Must Haves For Every Carry-On Bag!

Uncertain of what bits you're missing from your hand luggage? Keep reading as this list could make a whole lot of difference. These are my go-tos that will always find a place in my carry-on bag. These are my essentials for every trip both long haul and short haul.

1. Change of clothes/underwear/swimwear

I can't imagine I'm the only person who has the irrational fear that my suitcase will go missing every time I fly. To save me stressing I always bring a spare change of clothes and underwear in the unlikely case that does happen.

2. Hand sanitiser/wipes

Hand sanitiser and wipes have always found their place in my bag on a flight, as I'm a bit of a germaphobe. Especially due to recent events these will remain a necessity for my own peace of mind. They are great for wiping down anything you may touch whilst on the flight.

3. Charger

This is self-explanatory but on those long-haul flights where your battery seems to drain 10x faster even though its on airplane mode, this is very ideal.

4. Essential toiletries

On the same page as a change of clothes. Occasionally you need to freshen up after a long flight and also in the case of missing luggage. Bring in your carry-on anything that you deem essential for you. Of course under 100ml. Be it face wash, deodorant, some make up bits, etc...

5. Travel pillow

For me long or short haul, I can not fly without my travel neck pillow. As I love to sleep on the plane and this is the only comfortable way I can do that. This also means the little pillows they provide on the plane you can use for your back instead.

6. Headphones/earphones

This may not be necessary for everyone, but I just find the headphones provided on the plane so uncomfortable. So to be on the safe side I bring my own. This is also beneficial for using your own phone or tablet whilst on the plane.

7. Travel insurance!

This goes without saying that travel insurance is necessary for every trip you take as you want to be prepared for any issues that occur. This is especially essential in recent times.

8. A camera

Being a photographer I always carry camera equipment with me. My favourites to take are a point and shoot film camera and a polaroid camera. I feel it's a nicer way to capture your memories on a holiday rather than using a phone. If you don't have either of these, purchase a disposable camera. I promise you, you won't regret it!

Don't forget your passport! Safe travels!
